Woodwork

From toy making to furniture, cabinets or doors and window frames, all of this requires space to work. For those who have ever done any of this know that very few things of this nature  are finished within a single evening or even day.

Lakeside would be perfect for this as it has the space to build the bigger projects like frames and furniture while at the same time with consent some pieces of wood could be gathered from the forest to be then sculpted or made into toys and other nice objects.

I envision an environment where people share knowledge and help each other out as needed while at the same time having enough room and space to do their own thing.

Working with wood is very therapeutic. If you have a day job where you work with PC’s all day or sit behind a desk all day then doing something different with your hands can be very rewarding. It is inspiring to look at things from a different angle as well, as that helps you release the day to day work stress.

The fact that you can see and feel what you are shaping, creating while you’re doing it  - this I find very rewarding.

Having made toys and repaired wooden toys and chairs I want to explore this further and see if I can do more with this. I would welcome anyone who wants to join me or who can show me how to become better at this.

For those that would like to explore this as well please join me and we’ll see where it leads us. I‘ll be happy to share the little experience I have gathered with all of you.
