Feltmaking
Felting, similar to quilting has an age old place in community - a space for people to come together
and create with the beautiful soft medium of wool - is a real contrast to the electronic modern media
we've all grown so used to.
A permanent home for a felting workshop would be a dream come true. Currently, workshops are being
delivered through Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire but a base that could be used by the whole community
on a daily basis would be amazing. One major plus would be the room to make larger projects to serve
community projects, such as large wall hangings, rugs and garments - as well as exhibition space to
showcase the versatility of felt and the history of its origins. Workshops will be available, tailored
to all ages and abilities for projects large and small. Individuals, groups, parties and classes will
all be made welcome. Schools and community groups would be able to access all facilities.

A workshop set in a beautiful location can only inspire people to open their minds to the colours
of nature and use these prompts within their creations. Using natural materials so close to Mother
Nature with views of the lake, trees and seasonal flowers, birdsong for company, all contribute to
the creation of a perfect retreat where you can immerse yourself in the beauty and let the creative
 juices flow.
