He is a 7 metre, fully animated, fire breathing, robo-mechanical
dragon, straddled by a human rider which
can also carry an aerial performer in his talons if required.
Sporting a pneumatically controlled head and neck, flapping wings,
moving tail, legs, claws,
integrated lighting effects and the capacity to breath both smoke and
fire, recycling the industrial
past into contemporary fantasy imagery.
An aesthetic inspired by Brunel, tumbling into his own time machine:
hundreds of rivets,
battle worn body sections-some of them identifiable from previous uses,
intentionally clunky movement,
yet able to respond to the audience with a personality of its own,
making it as 'living' as an organic entity.
